White Lightening Texas Chili



1 lb dried navy beans

2 - 32 oz cartons unsalted chicken broth

1 large onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 T white pepper

1 T dried oregano

1 T ground cumin

1 tsp salt

5 cups chopped, cooked chicken breast

1 - 4.5 oz can chopped green chiles

1 cup water

1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped


Wash beans and place in dutch oven with water 2 inches above the beans. Let soak 8 hours.

Drain beans, pout into your favorite Celebrating Home Direct Bean Pot. Add chicken broth and next 7 ingredients listed above.

Cover and place in oven, bake 2 hours at 350 degrees (cooking times may vary) or until beans are tender, stirring after 1 hour.

Add remaining ingredients listed above, cover and simmer 1 more hour, stirring occasionally. 

NOTE: Add more chicken broth if needed. 

Serve with shredded Monterrey Jack Cheese, sour cream, salsa and sliced green onions.
